PACE Host 61st Christmas Lunch
The Motorcycle Museum in Solihull was filled with Christmas cheer as 300 PACE members came together for the annual PACE Christmas Party. It all started off with the Christmas Lunch, which proved to be a success with delicious food and fabulous entertainment to get everyone into the festive spirit.
Master of Ceremonies was BRMB’s Elliott Webb, he warmed up guests and had PACE members revving for more entertainment. Singer and songwriter, Jamie Scott, was a real crowd pleaser providing entertainment for the guests with some fantastic music.
Christmas is well known for its share of presents, and for bringing out the thoughtfulness in people. PACE certainly like to give, and in honour of the spirit of Christmas they raised a whooping £2400 for the charities, NABS and Marie Curie. What was even more rewarding for the guests, was the pride that went with handing Marie Curie Care a cheque for £2,500 raised by PACE from the event that had taken place in Autumn.
The place was buzzing as raffles raised just over £1500. The prizes in the raffle draw included an overnight stay at Hoar Cross Hall and a luxury Harvey Nichols hamper. People really got into the spirit of the event as there was even an auction for collectable items, and they sold for great bidding prices! A presentation disc signed and framed from Take That, sold for over £500, and was further personalised with the name of the winning bidder- Tim James at NEC. This much wanted prize was donated by Luis Clark from 100.7 Heart Fm. In a further bid, Stereophonics graphics went for over £100 and was nabbed by Dean Lovett at McCanns. Unsuitable donated a signed Trevor Beattie poster, which went for a handsome £300. It’s reported that the poster should be seen hanging on a wall in McCanns in the very near future!
T’was the season to be jolly…Well the guests definitely showed their enthusiasm for celebrating in festive a mood as the party continued late into the night at the Panama Bar; while those with loads of bottle and dancing shoes carried on until the early hours of the morning at Mechu in Summer Row!
PACE members thoroughly enjoyed themselves at the final PACE event of the 2007 social calendar. And everyone glowed with the warm fuzzy feeling that was created by the Christmas charity event. This was a complete success with the aid of GCap Media’s ‘The One Network’ who sponsored the event - so, a big thanks to them!
Trevor Beatie – FCUK-ing Genius!
The Midlands creative scene was treated to a rare insight into the world of advertising genius Trevor Beattie in November.
Birmingham born and bred, Trevor has been responsible for a string of extremely visible advertising campaigns including the much talked about ‘Hello Boys’ Wonderbra ads and infamous FCUK branding. However, quiz him about the piece of work closest to his heart and he will tell you about the UNICEF campaign, which he is extremely proud of.
Guests were given a sneak preview of the brand new Carling TV ad, along with an insight into another of Trevor’s passions – space travel. Trevor is involved in the Virgin Galactic Space Tourist Programme and is very much looking forward to his sub-orbital space flight.
Where on earth do you go from there?
