News - Training Update - 'Bookmark This'

Digg? del.icio.us? Flickr? Last.fm? If that list of new generation websites leaves your head in a spin, the latest PACE training session which was designed to help members understand the ever-changing web would have been a source of much enlightenment.

Over 35 people from the region's leading agencies attended the PACE and Pitch Consultants 'Understanding The Social Web' session back in June. Birmingham's digital specialists, One Black Bear, and PR agency Golley Slater, talked about the new generation of websites some are pigeon-holing as 'Web 2.0'. No jargon, no buzzwords, just plain English explanations of these new web tools and how to make the most of them.

The training sub-committee of PACE has been busy sourcing relevant training events for its members and will shortly be sending out a questionnaire to identify and understand members' needs.  PACE Council member Matt Ramsbottom, the new Chair of the Training Sub-Committee, said: 'We're keen to make sure that our training events are topical and relevant to our members and we're keen to find out what requirements our members have'.
